2 Chainz is a talented rapper and songwriter from the United States who began his musical journey by forming a pop duo called Playaz Circle with his high school friend Earl Conyers aka Dolla Boy during high school. One of the hip-hop industry’s hottest talents, he topped the US Billboard Hot 200 chart in 2012 with his debut studio album, ‘Based on a TRU Story’, selling more than 147,000 copies in a week of its release sold.
The album was later certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). He is also known for his single, No Lie which peaked at number 46 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and was also certified Gold.
The famous rapper is also a record producer for The Real University (TRU) record label. Aside from music, 2 Chainz has plied his craft in the film industry as an actor having appeared in many films and TV shows including Uncle Drew and 2 Broke Girls . He’s also an entrepreneur who started a sweater line called Dabbling Sweaters and the hoodie line called Creative Every Opportunity (CEO) Millionaires.

The famous rapper was born on September 12, 1977 in College Park, Georgia, USA as the only child of his parents. He was christened Tauheed Epps by his parents, whose identity is unknown to the media. Although he has a father, he was raised by his mother, who visits his father’s prison for a number of reasons.
2 Chainz is an alumni of North Clayton High School, where he was very active in basketball. He is also very brilliant as he graduated second in his class but finally ventured into a life of crime in his youth when he was arrested for illegal possession of cocaine in high school in 1992 and entered Alabama State University as a scholarship student one where he was a member of their basketball team. He later transferred to Virginia State University, where he earned his degree.
In high school, 2 Chainz formed a pop duo called Playaz Circle (an acronym for Legal Prep for Years A to Z) with his high school friend Earl Conyers aka Dolla Boy, while 2 Chainz took Tity Boi as his epithet . Following the release of their indie album United We Stand, United We Fall in 2002, the pop duo were signed to the Ludacris-owned record label Disturbing Tha Peace. Her first album, “Supply & Demand”, which was dropped on October 30, 2007, was a success as her single “Duffle Bag Boy”, which featured Lil Wayne, was a big city single.
Following the success of their first album, they released their second album entitled “Flight 360: The Takeoff” on September 29, 2009. However, 2 Chainz left The Disturbing Tha Peace label and went solo in 2011, adopting the stage name 2 Chainz. Soon after, he dropped his debut solo mixtape, TRU REALigion, which peaked at #58 on the US Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The well-known rapper then signed a record deal with Def Jam Recordings in February 2012 and dropped his debut studio album, titled Based on a TRU Story, in August of the same year. The album, which was also a success, had its three hit singles; “I’m Different”, “No Lie” and “Birthday Song”
His follow-up album, titled BOATS II: Me Time, was released on September 11, 2013, with smash singles “Used 2” and “Feds Watching” and was a huge commercial success along with the others. 2 Chainz’s illustrious career has not gone unnoticed as he has won many awards and nominations including a Grammy Award, five BET Hip-Hop Awards, a Soul Train Award and five Grammy nominations.
Additionally, he has dabbled in the film industry with his film and TV credits as an actor on Uncle Drew, the Most Expensive and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
