A Boruto Movie Release is Unlikely; Here's Why

The Boruto series has made a comeback with Two Blue Vortex, and possibly the anime will be renewed in late 2025, but will there be a Boruto Movie any time soon? The chances are unlikely, and here is why!

Will There Be Another Boruto Movie? Likely Not!

The Boruto series has already introduced a movie in the franchise introducing both the old and new generations and showed bits of the few initial episodes of the Boruto Anime. The Boruto anime ended with 293 episodes without adapting the last few parts of the Boruto manga series. Even though these parts contain only a few chapters, it is unlikely the producers will invest money to shoot a few extra fight sequences with a movie.

The Boruto Anime has always been criticized for its bad animations and loose plotholes. Fans have complained that “80%” of the anime is filled with filler events, and it’s time the Boruto anime continues showing the canon events. The last few bits of the Boruto manga could be turned into a movie showing Code’s Assault Arc and the Prophecy Arc and ending with Sasuke and Boruto leaving the village. However, it is rumored that Studio Pierrot will be heavily investing in the animation for Boruto Season 2, which is why it is unlikely that the producers will invest in another Boruto Movie currently.

These chapters in the manga series have been rushed in the manga series, and fans want these chapters to be “revamped” in the upcoming season of Boruto anime. So, instead of a new Boruto Movie, fans are looking forward to proper anime episodes in season 2. With that being said, the Boruto series is finally getting its much-deserved hype starting with Two Blue Vortex, and it looks like the producers are finally coming serious with the series, it will be interesting to watch how the series is reworked.
