Coachella Security Reportedly Training To Combat High-Scale Attack

INDIO, Calif. (CelebrityAccess) Law enforcement is reportedly bracing itself for the possibility of a Vegas-style attack, with drones and tourniquets on the ready.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that there are no current, credible threats against the desert festival but cops and security are taking training courses out of “an abundance of caution.” Law enforcement has taken courses to identify items that appear out of place and to know where all trash cans are located so that, if one magically appears, cops can take the appropriate steps to investigate.

The report does not mention snipers being on hand, although the possibility has been raised and have been implemented at festivals such as the Ultra Music Festival in Miami.

There will also be the usual security steps – namely, metal detectors and pat-downs.

Coachella is scheduled for April 13-15 and April 20-22 featuring Beyoncé, The Weeknd, Eminem, SZA, Haim, Odesza, Portugal. The Man and others.
