Community Calendar: Memorial Day events

MEMORIAL DAY EVENTS:

-Sandyvale Memorial Gardens and Conservancy will host a service at 10 a.m.

-Conemaugh Legion's Memorial Day parade line up will start at 10 a.m.

-The Jackson Township Senior Center will have a Memorial Day ceremony at 11 a.m.

-Westmont borough’s Memorial Day celebrations will kick off at 7:30 a.m. with a bicycle contest, followed by a parade and ceremony at the cemetery.

- Windber borough’s parade will start at 10 a.m. Services will follow at Windber Veterans Park.

- Boalsburg will have various events happening on Memorial Day. There will be food, music and craft vendors complete with two Civil War battle re-enactments at the historical Boal Mansion and Estate. The events will kick off with the Annual Boalsburg Memorial Day Run starting at 8:30 a.m.

- Salisbury will host a “celebrity” parade on Route 219 at 10 a.m.

-Ebensburg will start their parade line up at 9:30 a.m. on West Highland Avenue.

- East Hills Kiwanis Club of Johnstown will host a ceremony at 1 p.m. Monday in Kiwanis Memorial Park.

- The Somerset Memorial Day Committee will hold a ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Somerset County Courthouse.

- Blair County War Veterans will hold its annual parade at 10 a.m.

- The Tyrone Memorial Day Parade begins at 10 a.m. and Memorial Day services will follow after the parade.

- Memorial Day parade hosted by Duncansville VFW will start at noon.
