Fairfield Republicans Honor Three Longtime Town Residents

Peter Ambrose, Carol Way and Trisha Pytko will be recognized for their contributions to the town.

“These are three terrific individuals who have made a positive impact to our community and the Fairfield RTC is proud to honor them,” said RTC Chairman James Millington.

The event takes place from 7 to 11 p.m. at the pavilion on Penfield Beach.

Ambrose, a lifelong town resident who has served on the Representative Town Meeting for 14 years, will receive the Myrtle Miller Republican of the Year Award. An attorney, he is also the former president of the Rotary Club, former chairman of Fairfield Community Service and a board member of the Connecticut Burn Foundation.

Carol Way, a Fairfield resident for 38 years, will receive the Jerry Malafronte Community Service Award. A member of the RTM for eight years, she was a longtime high school teacher and is a lifetime member of the American Association of University Women. She has served as a volunteer and board member on numerous charities and was a Republican nominee for state representative in 2014.

Pytko, a Fairfield resident for 30 years, is a member of the Fairfield Board of Education. A middle school teacher in Region 16 schools, she volunteers at the Bridgeport Host Lions Club. She will receive the Paul Tymniak Young Republican Award.
