What are Trifling Glyphs?

Trifling Glyphs are crafted using runestones and are used to provide buffs to your character. There are numerous Trifling Glyphs you can craft and each one focuses on a different aspect such as frost resistance or reducing spell cost. However, Trifling Glyphs only boost the specific stats they’re using.

You need a total of three runestones to create a glyph: potency, aspect, and essence. These decide the level of items the glyph can be equipped to, the strength of the glyph, and the quality of the glyph.

When it comes to potency, Trifling Glyphs have the lowest potency and only require level one in the skill to create. They also require the lowest gear requirement so you can equip them with low-level gear. Do note that Trifling Glyphs can only be applied on items that have levels between 1 to 10. Alongside potency runestones, you will need to collect aspect runestones to define the quality of the glyph. Quality ranges from Base to Legendary and the higher the quality the higher the buff. Finally, the essence runestone will be the deciding factor in which element of your character will be buffed.

How to make Trifling Glyphs

You’ll first need to harvest runestones found across Tamriel. They are small stone pillars that glow with arcane light and are most commonly found near ruins. Alternatively, you can buy them from Enchanters, who are marked by the crystal symbol on the map. Keep in mind that you may not always get the runestone you require when harvesting. Once you have the necessary runestones, head to an enchanting table to craft the respective glyph.

Here are the runestones required for each of the Tifling Glyphs:
