TURLOCK, CA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — E-40 and Papa Roach won't be welcoming the Warriors and students back to CSU-Stanislaw in Turlock this Saturday. The concert, which had been planned by the University and the Student Association as part of a 'Welcome back to school' program was cancelled after police officials issued "urgent warnings" to the school in wake of an unruly event in neighboring Modesto on Sept. 3rd.

The Modesto concert led to the arrest of 17 individuals and due to police staffing issues, quickly became chaotic after the music, the Modesto Bee reported.

Police chief Ray Wasden, in part blamed the music Hyphy (hi-fee) which is a style of music and fashion associated largely with the urban Bay area.

Hyphy began to emerge in around the turn of the century, largely a reaction to the perceived commercialization of hip hop and an expression of the bay area mindset and culture. It features gritty, pounding rhythms and has been compared to Crunk but is more uptempo/dance oriented than Crunk. E-40 is one of the first breakthrough artists for this genre to gain wider recognition.

Police raised concerns over the Papa Roach & E-40 concert after the Modesto incident, noting that E-40 is a popular Hyphy artist. In the face of this pressure, school officials decided to reschedule the all-ages alcohol-free event which was expected to bring 3,000 people to the campus. As of press time, no date has been set. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers.
