LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) Kelly Blakely, wife of APA music chief Troy Blakely, 68, who died Feb. 10, has issued a statement that her husband succumbed to pneumonia.
“I am heartbroken to announce the death of my husband, best friend and rock music legend Troy Blakely,” Kelly said in a statement issued by Pratt Communications. “After courageously beating cancer twice, once in 1994 and once in 2016, and being declared totally cancer-free since 2016, Troy was stricken with pneumonia during this horrific flu season. He succumbed to pneumonia on Saturday night. We are devastated by the loss and are asking for privacy as we, along with his many friends and clients, grieve the loss of Troy.”
Blakely’s funeral services were private, according to his wishes, but a memorial is planned for a later date.
Blakely was associated with incredible talent, representing acts like Fleetwood Mac, Robert Plant, Judas Priest, Heart, Sammy Hagar, and Lenny Kravitz, among many others. Those in the industry also knew him as the organizer of APA’s annual motorcycle ride that preceded the Concert Industry Consortium.
