EMT ID'd As Man Found Dead At Walmart In Ephrata (Exclusive)

Publish date: 2024-06-03

Nicole Goodman found her friend Brandon Jasper Stacey unresponsive in the backseat of his beloved white Volkswagon sedan at the Ephrata Walmart located at 890 East Main Street/US 322 around 4 p.m.

She called 911, reporting it as a cardiac arrest, and Ephrata Police and emergency medical services soon arrived but it was too late, so the Lancaster County Coroner was called to the scene.

On May 10, the results of the autopsy were shared by Nicole, who revealed that Brandon had suffered a pulmonary embolism, which she described as "a blood clot in the lung that lead to the heart," in a GoFundMe she launched the same day.

She launched the fundraiser "to host a service and to help pay off other expenses that come along. The family is currently dealing with person health problems so money is super tight and this unexpected death really had a toll and made it almost impossible to pay for everything. Brandon was cremated on Friday and a urn was not purchased yet and there are still a few expenses that need taken care of due to the death," as stated on the campaign page.

She has shared about her friend with "a contagious smile" saying, "He was a big hearted person he would sing and joke around and make people laugh. He had a absolute love for music. His all time favorite band was Pink Floyd and he had a complete outfit to show people his love for them...He was an over all funny selfless and lovable person." She told us he was also really good at hacky sack.

"Brandon was raised by his grandparents and both are now deceased as well...It’s a lot to deal with," Nicole explained on the GoFundMe page.

He was a class of 2007 graduate of Ephrata High School who trained and became an EMT after graduating.

He is survived by his dad, mom, brother, and friends, Nicole told Daily Voice.

"There will be a service but as of right now there is no set date or time as we are still waiting for his ashes," Nicole said.

The fundraiser was launched shortly after she spoke with us and has a $5,000 goal.
