Nikki's age - The Young and the Restless

Nikki and Victor’s first wedding was on April 13th, 1984. Nikki told Victor that they would be celebrating 40 years since their first wedding.

Melody Thomas Scott was 23 years old when she left The Waltons in 1979 to join The Young and the Restless.

The character Nikki was 19 years old in 1979.

In 1979 Nikki married Greg Foster.

Not sure what year she started working at the Bayou as a stripper, but it was before 1981.

She first met Victor Newman in 1981 while working at the Bayou.

Victor and Nikki married in 1984.

She was 19 when she arrived in Genoa city. 5 years later she was married to Victor Newman which places her at 24 years old at the time of her first wedding.

40 years later brings her to 64 years old.

I just love when they bring in ages, dates and years. It makes calculating so much easier.

I love logic puzzles. This was a fun one.

Well, were the children born out of wedlock or were they married when they had Nick and Vikki? If so, then based on their ages the writers should have at least gone with 45 years but probably 50 years. Nothing on this show adds up or makes sense sometimes.

They were married when she had Victoria and Nick.

If people want to get really technical with regards to her kids.

Nikki was 24 when she married Victor. I forget how long they were married before she got pregnant with Victoria. But let’s say 2 years so that would bring Nikki to 26 years old.

Victoria is 50 years old. So that technically makes Nikki 76.

But according to the writers and the math based on the 40 year anniversary, and when she showed up in 1979, and how old she was when they married, she’s 64 which means she had Victor’s child at 14 years old, long before she even met Victor!

Victoria was born on screen Nov 17 1982 however as usual in soapland
the year changed to 1976
making her 47 now which is ridiculous it just doesn’t add up

I enjoyed your post. You make it make sense when we can see with our eyes that 40 years of marriage with children after the wedding would not yield 50 something kids.

According to wikipedia her DOB is 4/18/56…which makes her 68 in real life.

We aren’t talking about Melody. This is about her character Nikki.

The age of the actor means nothing. It’s the age of the character based on their storyline history that matters. Actors can play characters that are younger or older than they are.

It didn’t even dawn on me that Victoria is older than the number of years that her parents have known each other!!

If you use her on screen birth that is November 1982 making her 41
which is still more than 40 yrs Victor / Nikki 1st wedding

All this sounds pretty accurate but there’s only problem. If they were married for forty years, that means Victoria was 12 years old and Nick was 6 when they got married??? Because Victoria about 53 and Nick is at least 47 now!

the first marriage was 40 years ago, but they have divorced numerous times since then. I have no clue why they’d celebrate the anniversary of their first marriage, its not like they went the distance.

Actually she’ll be 68 in less than two weeks. She was born the same year I was, 1956. She’s three months older than me and let me tell you, I don’t look half as good as her!

I remember when she played in the horror movie in 1979 “The Car”…such a good scary movie. Melody was is the first scene, her and her boyfriend got ran over while riding their bikes on a deserted highway…she was so young then couldn’t have been no more than 20 years old. I knew she would become a super star, just never thought she’d end up on a Soap Opera. Nevertheless she is an awesome actress!
