Propane gas leak to blame for deadly explosion at Pennsylvania hotel
LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Officials confirmed that one person is dead after an explosion lead to a second-alarm fire at a Pennsylvania hotel.
The explosion at the Bird-in-Hand Family Inn in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania was caused by a propane gas leak.
Pennsylvania State Police have not yet stated the identity of the deceased individual.
Dozens of crews were on the scene of a fire Sunday in Leacock Township, Lancaster County officials confirmed to WHP.
Dispatch said the fire was located at in the 2700 block of Old Philadelphia Pike.
WHP returned to the scene Monday and witnessed emergency crews remained at the scene investigating.
Glass and debris was scattered along the street showing at scale at what was lost.
A woman who worked at the hotels told WHP she was sad. "We were suppose to have a our Christmas party tomorrow," said Bena Ozkan.
