Rahman Dukes Named Head Of Urban Programming At LiveXLive

LOS ANGELES,(CelebrityAccess) — LiveXLive Media, Inc. has hired former MTV managing editor and digital media consultant Rahman Dukes as the live entertainment streaming service’s Head of Urban Programming.

Dukes will be tasked with creating, developing and producing urban programming content across LiveXLive’s video and audio platforms as the company looks towards developing their own live events.

Dukes will also serve as a liaison for LiveXLive’s Brand Ambassador Nas and oversee the relationship between LiveXLive and Mass Appeal, an urban culture company that is home to Nas’ record label.

“Rahman is a true pioneer of digital media,” said Dermot McCormack, President of LiveXLive. “He will solidify and expand our connection to the hip hop genre and culture as we continue to push the envelope with initiatives from the continuing evolution of LiveZone to our partnership with Mass Appeal.”

Dukes began his career as an intern at MTV and worked his way up to become managing editor of MTV.com and MTVnews.com. While at the network, he also produced and created original content for MTV’ss related brands, including MTV Jams, YO! MTV Raps, and MTV Unplugged.

He’s also credited with bringing hip-hop artists such as Kanye West and 50 Cent to the network.

After he exited MTV, Dukes signed on as Senior Vice President/Head of Content for Sean Combs’ digital cable television network REVOLT, where he led the network’s social justice efforts and its support for the 2016 Presidential Election Campaign

More recently, he launched CM Media, a digital media content company and consultancy, producing original content for BAPE clothing and he narrated the Netflix-produced film, “Who Killed Jam Master Jay.”
