Former MLB player Juan Encarnacion accused of sexually assaulting daughter
According to a report from ESPN, former Major League Baseball player Juan Encarnacion has been accused of sexually assaulting his daughter.
Authorities with the attorney general's office in the Dominican Republic reportedly told ESPN that Encarnacion assaulted his daughter in May while she was sleeping.
Investigators told reporters that Encarnacion has since been taken into custody and a preliminary hearing was held Saturday.
Dominican law prohibits Encarnacion from being released on bail.
Encarnacion is a two-time World Series Champion and spent 11 seasons in the MLB, from 1997-2007, with the Tigers, Reds, Marlins, Dodgers and Cardinals.
