Shooting At Event Celebrating Tekashi69s Recent Court Verdict
NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) A bodyguard for Tekashi69 was reportedly shot at a Manhattan restaurant where the rapper was celebrating a probation sentencing last night.
Tekashi69, Alexis Skyy who is signed to Tekashi’s label and others were celebrating that the rapper would receive no jail time but four years probation regarding a sexual misconduct allegation.
Police told The Shade Room the shooting took place at a private event when two people tried to force their way inside and a gun was discharged during an altercation. The security guard was apparently shot in the stomach and sent to a hospital.
The rapper was facing one to three years in prison for various violations of his parole regarding a 2015 conviction when Tekashi took a “youthful offender” plea deal, admitting to using a 13-year-old girl in a sexual performance that was posted online.
At the court hearing earlier yesterday, Tekashi’s attorneys argued that he was not the person he portrays in the hip-hop community and gives back to the community. Tekashi, real name Daniel Hernadez, told the judge his “goal is to be the biggest superstar” he can be and he wants to use his power to help kids like him, according to The Blast.
His recent visit to a cancer patient was presented as evidence of his work in the community.
“What kind of kid would want to meet Tekashi 69 if I was such a bad guy?” he reportedly asked.
