Teen Arrested At Greenwich High For Reckless Driving After High-Speed Chase

Police served a warrant on Glen Ragin, 19, of Greenwich on Thursday in connection with the chase that took place on Dec. 28, said Lt. John Slusarz.

On the night of the chase, Slusarz said an officer attempted to stop Ragin for an infraction but he took off at a high rate of speed taking police on a chase for several miles before they called off the pursuit because it became "too dangerous."

"The officer did the right thing because of the dangerous way Ragin was driving," Slusarz. "It was very hazardous to the public and could have caused a serious crash."

Before the chase was over an officer was able to identify Ragin and police put together a case to take to court to receive an arrest warrant, he added.

Once police had the warrant it took a while to locate Ragin, which officers did last week when they discovered he was still a student.

Ragin was charged with a host of charges including reckless endangerment, engaging in a police pursuit, reckless driving, operating without a license, a red light violation, operating an unregistered vehicle, making an improper turn and a number of others.

He was released on $50,000 and is scheduled to appear in court on June 8.
