BIOGRAPHY
Althea Rae Duhinio Janairo, known as Tia Carrere, is of Filipino, Chinese and Spanish origin. She is passionate about singing, which she has practiced assiduously since she was little. When she was a teenager, she was spotted on the show Star Search by a film producer who encouraged her to pursue this path. So, she took theater classes and moved to Los Angeles to take part in castings.

With her very attractive physique, Tia begins by working as a model to support herself. At the same time, she found her first roles and appeared in popular series of the 1980s, such as The A-Team and MacGyver . From 1985 to 1987, the Honolulu native was chosen to play in 32 episodes of the famous soap opera Alliances & betrayals , created in 1963.

Favoring the small screen ( The Hell of Duty , The Noble House , The Road Raiders , Married, Two Children or Quantum Code ), Tia Carrere took part in 1991 in the films Harley Davidson and the Cowboy Man and In the Claws of the Red Dragon . In 1992, she found one of her best-known roles in the cult comedy Wayne’s World , that of a rock singer in love with Wayne ( Mike Myers ).

Then, she reprized her character in Wayne’s World 2 in 1993. Her roles gaining depth, the actress appeared in Hitman , Rising Sun with Sean Connery and played the second villain opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in the action comedy True Lies . She is also seen in The Immortals , My Teacher’s Wife , Teacher and Rebel , Kull the Conqueror , Les Raptors and An Ideal Man .

In 1999, Tia Carrere slipped into the skin of the heroine of the Sydney Fox series, the adventurer until 2002. But the actress gradually fell into oblivion from the 2000s onwards. Favoring dubbing ( Lilo & Stitch ), she appears furtively in series ( Newport Beach , Nip/Tuck , True Justice , Hawaii Five-0 (2010) and AJ and the Queen ) and in DTV ( Hard Breakers , Asteroid vs Earth , Operation Manila).
